The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is allowing for the development of a new Yankee Stadium by the New York Yankees on portions of Macombs Dam and John Mullaly Parks adjacent to the existing stadium site, located at East 161st Street and River Avenue in The Bronx. The new, open-air stadium will replace the existing outdated 84 year-old Yankee Stadium with modern amenities and improved spectator facilities. The proposed project also includes the construction of three new parking garages and the development of new and permanent recreational park facilities within the vicinity of the proposed stadium. The new stadium, two of the garages, and a number of these new park facilities will be completed by 2009. The full development of the project will be completed by 2011yankee_rendering6.jpg
One has to wonder if A-Rod will play in the new stadium
